Livarise 15mg Cartridge 3ml contains semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. It is used along with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity for chronic weight management in adults with obesity, or adults who are overweight with at least one weight-related health condition. Semaglutide is also indicated for adults with insufficiently controlled type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise. Livarise is supplied as a 15mg/3mL cartridge, equivalent to 5mg/mL of semaglutide. The product is marketed by Lupin Ltd and is supplied with a reusable pen device and needles.

Livarise 15mg Cartridge 3ml is used for: Chronic weight management in adults with obesity. Chronic weight management in adults who are overweight and have at least one weight-related health condition. Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when prescribed for this indication, along with diet and exercise. For weight management, it should be used together with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.

Livarise is administered once a week as a subcutaneous injection. It can be injected into the abdomen, thigh or upper arm. It can be administered at any time of day, with or without food. Try to use it on the same day each week. The dose is usually started at a lower level and increased gradually according to the treatment plan prescribed by the doctor. The 15mg/3mL cartridge describes the total amount of semaglutide in the cartridge and does not mean that 15mg is given as a single injection. Use the reusable pen only as instructed by your doctor or the product instructions. Remove and safely dispose of the needle after each injection. Do not share the pen with another person.

The most common side effects of Livarise include: Nausea Vomiting Diarrhoea Constipation Abdominal discomfort These effects are particularly common when treatment is started or the dose is increased and may become less troublesome as the body adjusts to treatment. Contact your doctor if you experience severe or persistent abdominal pain, repeated vomiting, symptoms of dehydration or changes in vision. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop symptoms of a serious allergic reaction.

Pregnancy Unsafe Livarise should not be used during pregnancy. If you are planning a pregnancy, speak to your doctor about stopping treatment. Semaglutide should generally be discontinued at least 2 months before a planned pregnancy. Breast Feeding Consult Your Doctor Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding before using Livarise. Your doctor will decide whether treatment is appropriate based on your individual circumstances. Lungs Consult Your Doctor Tell your doctor before surgery or a procedure involving general anaesthesia or deep sedation. Semaglutide delays gastric emptying, which may increase the risk of stomach contents entering the lungs during such procedures. Liver Consult Your Doctor Tell your doctor if you have liver disease before starting treatment. Your doctor will assess whether Livarise is appropriate for you. Alcohol Consult Your Doctor Discuss alcohol consumption with your doctor while using Livarise. Alcohol may worsen gastrointestinal symptoms and can affect blood glucose levels, particularly in people also taking other diabetes medicines.
