Introduction

Valcivir 500mg tablet is an Antiviral with an active ingredient called Valganciclovir. It belongs to the medication group known as Antiviral (Non-HIV) drugs. Valganciclovir is converted into Ganciclovir after entering the body, which acts to fight viral infections. It is used to treat Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infections of the retina of the eye in adults with Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). Cytomegalovirus infection often leads to vision problems and blindness. Additionally, it prevents Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infections in patients who received an organ transplant from a person infected with CMV in adults and children.

How to Consume

It is an orally available prescription drug. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of valcivir 500mg tablet based on the disease condition and other factors such as body weight and age. Always take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Take the tablet at the same time, either with or without food. Do try to break, chew, or crush the tablet. Swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water.
