Introduction

Boostrix injection belongs to the group of medicines called 'immunizing agents' primarily used to prevent diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis. Diphtheria is a serious infection affecting the nose and throat, leading to difficulty breathing, heart failure, paralysis, and death. Tetanus, also known as lockjaw, is caused by bacteria that enter the body through deep cuts, wounds, or burns affecting the nervous system. Pertussis or whooping cough is a respiratory tract infection caused by a type of bacteria known as Bordetella pertussis.Boostrix injection contains 'Diphtheria toxoid, Tetanus toxoid, and Pertussis toxoid.' It works by stimulating the immune response in the body by developing antibodies and antitoxins against the toxoids. Thus, it helps provide immunity or resistance against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis diseases.

Prevention from three infectious diseases (diphtheria, pertussis, and tetanus).
