Heparel 100IU injection contains the active ingredient called human hepatitis B immunoglobulin, which belongs to the family of antiviral agents. It is used in adults and children to protect from the hepatitis B virus, usually given with the hepatitis B vaccine. The Hepatitis B virus damages the liver and gradually stops the liver from working properly. Additionally, this medicine can also be given to newborn babies born to mothers with the hepatitis B virus.

Heparel 100IU Injection 1 ml contains antibodies that act against the hepatitis B virus (HBV) made from the human plasma of the donor infected person. It contains proteins (immunoglobulin) that help neutralize the hepatitis B virus. It is given to prevent hepatitis B in people who are undergoing liver transplantation, in babies born to mothers with hepatitis B, in people who are exposed to infected blood products, in people who had sexual contact with an infected person, and in people who are living with an infected person. It provokes the immune system to produce antibodies against the hepatitis B virus, which damages the liver.
